These are some of the most highly anticipated games of Week 8 in Illinois:
Wheaton Warrenville (6-1) at Glenbard North (7-0)
Wheaton's only loss was to Maine South, Glenbard North is unbeaten but feels under-appreciated.
Glenbrook South (6-1) at Maine South (7-0)
The top-ranked and defending state champion Hawks have yet to be challenged this season. This game is for the Central Suburban South title.
Crystal Lake South (7-0) at Cary Grove (7-0)
This is for the Fox Valley title, the biggest game in the far northwest suburbs.
Lincoln-Way East (6-1) at Lincoln-Way Central (6-1).
This is the kind of game high school football was made for.
Geneva (6-1) at Kaneland (6-1)
This is a Western Sun Conference showdown game.
Hillcrest (7-0) at Oak Forest (6-1)
This South Suburban Blue contest will clear up, but not settle, the conference title. Lemont is also in the picture.
Belvidere North (3-4) vs. Belvidere (4-3)
This is the third year of this rivalry, and a win boosts both teams playoff chances.
Williamsville (7-0) at Petersburg Porta (6-1)
This is for the title in the initial season of the Sangamo Conference.
